According to the Brides magazine, Bridal portraits are photos taken several months before the wedding where brides don their dresses for a solo photo shoot in a location of their choice. The bride can gift print portraits to her parents and/or spouse or even display them as décor at the reception.

Bridal portraits give brides-to-be an excuse to wear their wedding gown more than once. Most brides in the south choose wedding-dress bridal portraits. From a wedding photographer's point of view, I like when brides schedule their bridal portraits for a variety of reasons! Yes, bridal portraits are yet another add-on, but even the most perfectly planned wedding can get a bit chaotic; and having your portraits done another day will help you be less stressed and you won't feel rushed on your big day! Plus you get to wear your wedding gown more than once!
